Following the release of Pulse 999 on the sister label Abstract Mechanisms, Illegal Alien Records‘ Parisian friend, DJ Saint Pierre, returns to the mother label to present «Pulse 666.» The powerful French producer is back in the digital series with an excellent three-track release packaged under that unsettling name. The sound is unmistakably rugged, arid, and shifts from utopian to dystopian tones.
The title track carries dense rugosities that compact the oxygen so severely that they almost eliminate it. Rhythmic density feels in crescendo amidst Martian environments that cover everything in red, subjecting all to an incandescent heat. It is a powerful and suffocating atmosphere.

In these sonic wastelands, the voices seem to emanate from Earth, from a formless time, heading toward an equally formless destination. The sonic texture extends ad infinitum, potentially opening Rosen-Einstein bridges (wormholes) that will likely subsume us to the Parisian’s machines. It is a sonic stroke of genius that confirms DJ Saint Pierre’s ability to construct conceptual, otherworldly techno.
