Dominick Ryan is an electric and classical bassist, producer, and DJ currently based in Washington, D.C. Originally from Colorado, he is also known under the alias Dommie, the name with which he now debuts on the Lithuanian label Kontrapunkt.
“Imagine Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas as a soundtrack playing in Berlin clubs during the 1990s.” This is the premise behind Cutting Through, Dommie’s debut EP, a release that refines a psychedelic, expansive, and mutable sound, guiding listeners through a wide and unpredictable journey filled with unexpected turns. The EP also features a remix by Nikita von Tiraspol, head of Kontrapunkt, evoking a style reminiscent of Donato Dozzy, as if he had spent more time in the desert than in the jungle or underwater.
