We return to one of our favorite labels, both nationally and internationally: Tlaloc Records, a platform led and curated by MOGO, one of the producers we admire most for his sonic honesty and meticulous sound design. Over the years, the label has built a solid catalog within contemporary techno, consistently supporting artists who combine aesthetic depth with dancefloor impact. Each release seems to respond to a shared philosophy: direct music, free of unnecessary ornamentation, yet supported by carefully crafted sonic architecture. Within this curatorial framework, Tlaloc has successfully built bridges between different scenes and geographies. For one of its latest releases, the label presents techno producer Charles Mooyaart, an artist from Bristol, United Kingdom.
The music of Charles Mooyaart is defined by powerful ударs accompanied by synth melodies that echo the spirit of deep trance. His relationship with electronic culture began early: he grew up in Amsterdam and attended techno raves from the late 1990s onward, during a period when the Dutch electronic scene was experiencing a particularly vibrant creative moment. Those formative experiences left a lasting imprint on his musical sensibility. Much of the inspiration that drives his work today originates from that environment. Strongly influenced by this heritage, Mooyaart develops a dark, melodic techno where sonic landscapes are infused with a dense and expansive nostalgia.
After previously appearing on the Mexican label with release TLR149, the producer now returns with TLR157, titled Tremor. The record consists of three original tracks that once again demonstrate his ability to construct tension without sacrificing structural clarity. Within this trio, Fault Lines stands out as a particularly magnetic piece. The track draws strength from a duality that is both subtle and powerful, where dense and heavy elements coexist with moments of atmospheric openness. Abrasive low frequencies anchor the structure while the energy gradually dissolves into a progressive and captivating silence.
Across a sequence of repetitions built upon a single pattern, the final texture remains consistent, precise, and carefully developed. The track knows how to manage our emotional expectations with near-surgical timing. Each cycle introduces subtle variations that transform the overall perception without breaking continuity. At every stage of the pattern, new sonic elements emerge and integrate into the architecture, forming a unity built through difference. The result is a sensation of sustained intensity, where repetition does not exhaust the narrative but expands it toward an almost infinite motion.
