We return to one of our favorite labels, recognized both for the strength of its curatorial vision and the steady evolution of its catalog in recent years. From Spain, Hxagrm Records continues to develop an editorial line rooted in industrial, dark, and dancefloor-driven techno, where each release feels like part of a broader sonic narrative.
This time, the label presents a new project led by Andc, who, after his notable appearance on the label in 2022, returns in excellent form. The Brazilian producer — now based in Australia — delivers six tracks that further expand his sonic identity. The release also features collaborations with fellow producers LUMERTZ on track five and BERGA on track six, reinforcing the collective spirit that runs through the record.
Andc is a DJ and producer originally from Curitiba, Brazil, currently residing in Australia. Leandro Comiran, his real name, is also one of the leaders of the Technoteca collective, an important platform in the development of Curitiba’s techno scene over the last decade. His sound is characterized by powerful, dancefloor-oriented techno, where dark atmospheres and science-fiction influences merge with percussion-heavy rhythms and abrasive synthesizers. In his own words, his music can be described as “weird sounds and repetitive patterns”—a phrase that captures the essence of his aesthetic pursuit: hypnotic structures designed to sustain tension and forward motion.
For the fifth track, titled Objeto Animado, Andc collaborates with LUMERTZ, a Brazilian DJ and producer who also currently resides in Berlin (Germany). His work moves between techno and acid, exploring intense textures and immersive rhythmic frameworks. In his performances, he aims to generate deeply physical experiences on the dancefloor, constructing sets that oscillate between hypnotic flow and explosive energy. His sound draws clear inspiration from the electronic traditions of Detroit and Berlin, two cities whose influence can be heard in the way he structures rhythmic tension and progression within his productions.
In the words of HD Substance, the track “focuses on the Birmingham sound, gymnastic and relentless.” The metaphor is deliberate. Gymnastics here becomes a form of techno of the body: precise repetition, muscles striking the rhythm like a dry kick, breath looping as the pulse pushes the BPM upward. Each contraction lands like a clean удар inside the organism. It becomes physical engineering translated into sound: tension, control, and release.
A mechanical beat where every movement cuts cleanly, without ornament or concession, until body and rhythm fuse into a single momentum. And it is relentless: discipline advances like a steel metronome. It does not negotiate with fatigue nor soften error. Set after set, strike after strike, the rhythm insists, presses, returns — until the will itself learns to move within that hard, constant, inevitable pulse.
