CF Premiere: Ju-Ju – Cuidado con el gatito Feat. Tomillo [Ketapasando]

We return with great pleasure to one of those labels we love not just for what they release, but for how they release it. Ketapasando has something very few labels manage to sustain: a coherent visual and sonic curation, a communicative boldness that feels genuinely their own, and a personality you recognize from the first glance. The Spanish imprint is back now with a release that has all the character of the house —and then some.

KEBRADITO is the new EP from Buenos Aires-born, Madrid-based producer Ju-Ju —the artistic name of Julián Carrara— and arrives structured as a sonic diptych: it opens with 4 original tracks and completes itself on April 28th with remixes by Umami, Silvia Torres, Kid Cala, and Ale Mal. A two-act release that, even in its architecture, says something about the project’s intention.

Recorded between 2022 and 2026, the EP fuses jungle, breakbeat, IDM, and melodies with a distinctly Latin American character to build what Ju-Ju describes as the soundtrack to a B-movie —one that speaks, with sharp irony, about precarity and collective unease. Broken rhythms for broken times. Few phrases summarize what’s happening here more precisely. The cover art, created by 3D artist Oihannavsmm, was built through photogrammetry of heads from the artist’s inner circle, and will form part of the visual identity of his live show. Even in the details, this project has conviction.

Julián Carrara is not a producer defined by a single genre or a single community. Born in Rosario, Argentina and based in Madrid, his trajectory is a map of influences that rarely appear together this naturally: the nostalgic crunch of 90s console synthesis chips —present in projects like 2G1B—, the raw rhythmic world of Latin American alternative music —he’s a member of bands including Candeleros and I Have Prøblemas—, and the frenetic energy of rave culture. He’s not a producer jumping between genres chasing trends: he’s someone for whom that diversity is simply his natural way of inhabiting music.

And then comes «Cuidado con el Gatito» —and from the very first second it’s clear this is no ordinary track. The conceptual premise is as absurd as it is perfectly executed: the soundtrack to a traffic accident caused by a small kitten, which ends in the dream of a person in a coma. That concept was taken by The Black Puppy to build the music video, with direct references to those children’s YouTube channels that generate videos with basic 3D models and irritating songs that everyone has accidentally stumbled upon at least once. The artist describes it with devastating precision: «You swerved for the kitten: you fell into a coma. And now your brain, loyal to its memories, has rented you an infinite suite in the only place it knows well: a rotten episode of Choo Choo Nursery Rhymes. Your parents shouldn’t have left you alone with the tablet for so long.» Nothing to add.

Produced by Ju-Ju and Tomillo between 2022 and 2023, the track was sequenced in Ableton Live with an arsenal of tools that perfectly reflects the project’s personality: a Model D for main melodies and basslines, Stylophone noise textures, DeepMind 6 pads, an MPC Live used to sample a Uruguayan candombe drum ensemble, and various field recordings by Tomillo. Every element has a reason to be there —nothing is accidental.

The official video also premieres today. Watch it. And watch out for the kitten.
