Club Furies

Stijn Vanmarsenille is a Belgian musician. He started as a guitarist, keyboardist, and singer in many bands. He makes music for contemporary dance pieces. During the pandemic, he transitioned to electronic music exclusively. This means: techno and ambient/noise. Now, for one of the most recent releases to be published, he presents himself on the mythical Spanish label Devotion Records, a techno label directed by Lucas Freire and Fernanda Martins.

It is Variations Of Behaviours, an EP of four original tracks –Spanish Eyes, Strawberry Fields, TGV, and the homonymous track; which is completed with the remix of Nemesis to Strawberry Fields. With heavy, percussive beats and haunting, textured soundscapes, this release embodies techno’s darker, more cerebral side. Each track builds on an intense, layered foundation, weaving raw energy with intricate detail to create a powerful, resonant exploration.

Spanish Eyes opens this release. It is an ode to the heavy machinery that takes place in the sound of techno. From the first experiments of the futuristic avant-garde, who wanted to sound the noise of the second industrial revolution, in this case it is a contemporary expression of it. Between techno, ambient, and noise, the external world makes its place in the world of art, of electronic music.

Intensities that reach their delta and climax, after which the limit is reached and crossed. With an exceptional sound design, Stijn Vanmarsenille modulates it to perfection, achieving delirious and disturbing sensations in the midst of ambiences and atmospheres that feel comfortable and relaxing.
