Portuguese label Rapture presents the second chapter of a four-part cycle. It is entitled IGNIS FERALIS, a Various Artists compilation of five original tracks by five different artists. It is presented as the «evocation of the elements of a cursed and decaying world: a planet collapsing under its own corruption, where the future flickers uncertain and the abyss approaches.»
«Here, fire becomes sound incarnate: a percussion of flames beating against the silence, each spark a relentless throb. It swells like a melody unraveling in distortion, crackling as it spreads. Its heat is a bone-shuddering low vibration, its dance a hypnotic sequence of minor tones, merciless and mesmerizing. At its core, the flare is a mechanical rhythm of devastation, primal yet precise, all-consuming in its pulse.»
From Paris, France, Mystery Kid presents herself as a little dark siren, with whom we dive into her chaotic and dark double universe with synthesizer waves and rock vibes, where percussive breaks and EBM merge harmoniously. She presents Les Sorcières de Salem, whose title alludes to the witchcraft trials that occurred in the Massachusetts colony in 1692-1693, where more than 200 people -most of them women- were accused and 20 executed, most of them by hanging.
Screams from beyond the grave, crying out for true justice and vengeance, amidst guitars and torrential drones. Sensual rhythm that cries out for blood, sweat, and lots of dance. And impeccable sound design, with an imposing attitude. In the midst of such a conceptual and artistic ensemble, the track is impressive, capable of modeling vibrant atmospheres and tense environments, as well as dark and ravey.
