Club Furies

One of the characteristics of art as a particular social expression is that its forms of being are open to the interpretation of the person who is in front of a work of art. This interpretation, however, can be limited to the artist’s forms if the work is accompanied by a description; that is, if it communicates not only through perception, but also through language. Such is the case of 軀殼 VESSEL, the sound work of 祐曦YAU HEI from the Taiwanese label OverMyBody.

«祐曦 Yau Hei is a Hong Kong producer and DJ based in Bristol whose music embodies a deep exploration of the mind and spirit. ASJ, short for «A Spiritual Journey,» reflects his idea of bridging the physical and metaphysical, creating immersive soundscapes that transform emotions and perceptions.

«軀殼 VESSEL is a reflection of 祐曦YAU HEI‘s daily rhythm of life, it is born from the weight of repetition, from the endless cycle of routine. It awakens her need to create, to remind herself of the fragile beauty of imagination. The slow erosion of time, the relentless truth of the cycle of death, is the weight against which 祐曦YAU HEI writes.»

The first track, 歸隅, takes us completely into the sound universe that the artist has modeled for us. It is at the same time a rough and clean sound, with wide and deep sound structures, in which oxygen allows us to breathe deeply, and in which life becomes, mutates and transforms continuously. By the end, the announcement of what has already arrived becomes unassailable. A true sonorous work of art. 

In this way, «each track becomes a journey: the first half is built with urgency and tension, while the second unfolds in melody and space. The movement reflects the cycle: from the weight of routine to the fleeting light of liberation.
