Now, for one of her most recent releases, she presents «Destroyer» via the Chilean label Infinito Audio Network. This is the first single from the upcoming reissue of visual artist Caterina Purdy’s 2004 album, «Rock My Ass.» «In early 2001, Purdy began experimenting with machines, influenced by Miami Electro, the gothic post-punk of Siouxsie and the Banshees, Bauhaus, and the industrial sounds of Front 242, Ministry, and Skinny Puppy. ‘Destroyer’ fuses these influences in a visionary way, as, unbeknownst to her, something similar was brewing elsewhere in the world: what would later be called Electroclash.»

Amidst tinkling sounds and hesitant sonic textures, the word «destroyer» becomes the core of this track’s not-so-veiled aspirations. Through numerous repetitions, the stated intention becomes reality, amidst sounds that turn autonomous and bits that crack the boundaries of the established, striving for more.
