Iturnem is the record label of Misstress Barbara, the Italian-born artist and producer who has been based in Canada for many years. Originally founded in 1999 under the name Relentless, the label was renamed Iturnem in 2003. Emerging in the 1990s, Misstress Barbara —a wordplay between Miss and Stress— is a pioneering DJ and producer, widely regarded as one of the first female techno superstars, whose explosive sets helped inspire entire generations within the underground electronic scene. Now, a true legend returns with a new release on her own imprint.
She comes back strong with Millions of Women, a fierce three-track EP designed to deliver maximum impact across the full spectrum of techno. The title track stands as a powerful, tension-driven anthem: a dominant and seductive synth line intertwines with female vocals that gradually intensify, building toward an almost orgasmic surge of energy. The tension rises to a breaking point before erupting into an explosive release, crafted to ignite dancefloors without hesitation.
When an artist articulates their sound so directly through language —with such precision and force— there is little left to do but fully embrace both the music and its description.
