Jorg Rodríguez is a music professional whose career began in Mexico City and later expanded to Barcelona—an essential stage in his artistic development—before eventually returning to the Mexican capital. Over the years, he has developed projects encompassing live performances, DJ sets, and studio productions, through which he has defined a distinctive sound: fresh, percussive, and powerful. Drawing from a wide range of influences, techno has always been his core creative territory, establishing him as one of the most prominent figures within the Mexican techno scene.
For one of his most recent releases, Jorg returns to what has been his home for over fifteen years: Illegal Alien Records. With more than two decades of a solid and consistent career, the Mexican artist has carved out a distinctive path within the global techno landscape, earning recognition as one of the most authentic and influential voices in Latin American techno.
Together, artist and label present the next vinyl release in the catalog: a 12-inch record from the LTD Dubplate series, marking Jorg’s powerful return to Illegal Alien Records and reaffirming the deep creative bond between them.
“NRG meets HRG” is the title of this striking four-track EP, showcasing hypnotic techno driven by raw, deep grooves, intense rhythms, and a refined underground sensibility. Each track is carefully crafted for the dancefloor, balancing relentless energy with atmospheric depth, fully aligned with Jorg’s signature sound and artistic vision.
“Ladder”, the second track on Side A, delivers a powerful impact from the very beginning. The title itself is highly illustrative, evoking the image of a ladder that continues to rise while already being at the top—an apparent paradox that the track resolves through its complex and layered sound design. Once the peak is reached, the rhythm and intensity settle into pleasurable valleys, creating moments of release that feel like gentle caresses to the ear.
