Carara is a highly respected techno veteran, DJ, and producer originally based in Berlin, Germany. Owner of the Structure Division label, he currently lives near Aachen, where he regularly performs at key venues such as Musikbunker / Hotel Europa Aachen and H14 Würselen. Carara’s techno productions are powerful and dynamic, defined by a raw, dark aesthetic, often reinforced by underground vocal elements that enhance their shadowy, visceral character.
Now, the Berlin-based label Casanova Bar Records presents Cathedral Treasury, an EP by the German master and true legend to many of us, André Carara. This release marks his debut on the label and features five raw techno tracks alongside a remix by Luca Maniaci, who also makes his first appearance on the imprint. The EP stands as a concentrated statement of experience, vision, and a deep understanding of underground techno architecture.
Opening the release is Tool 001, a relentless sonic mechanism—dense, hypnotic, and absolutely essential. Its strength does not strike instantly; instead, it seeps in subtly yet inexorably, unfolding across a vast rhythmic canvas until it reaches a state of controlled delirium. From there, the track recharges itself with almost surgical brutality. Hypnotic labyrinths emerge quietly, gradually filling the entire perceptual horizon. A form of sonic violence that drills into both the dancefloor and the psyche, reaffirming Carara’s mastery of tension, weight, and repetition.
