Finnish artists Empath and MEGAFORCE —the rawest and most abrasive alter ego of Reginald— join forces once again to create a lysergic EP paying tribute to one of the great icons of 1960s counterculture: Timothy Leary. Titled ‘Leary State,’ it’s presented by Seremonia by EABE. It consists of two original tracks that explore altered states of perception, alongside a powerful hard techno remix by Mikael Vilja, who pushes the title track into a territory of maximum pressure and physical intensity.
The EP is rugged from start to finish, built on ancient, old-school sounds that seem to emerge from dense and almost mythical pasts. Nostalgic flashes are embedded with surgical precision, appearing exactly when needed and never overstaying their welcome. The hypnotism here is organic, grounded in clattering machinery, dry percussion, and abrasive textures that evoke dust, wear, and a sense of age.
Lysergia is not presented as escapism, but as friction: a mental state induced through repetition, rawness, and relentless rhythmic insistence. Sonic layers rotate like oxidized gears, generating a primitive, almost ritualistic trance where time dissolves, and the dancefloor becomes a space for psychic exploration. An EP that does not aim to please, but to induce, to push, and to confront.
