The London-based label Kolibri Space Shuttle (KSS) welcomes listeners aboard its sonic spacecraft. From the outset, the invitation is clear: embark on a journey where constellations gradually unfold as immersive sonic experiences. Through its different series —NSTNKT, Kolibri, Grounded and Tribute— the label explores multiple territories within contemporary techno, moving between hypnotic dark rhythms, luminous melodic passages and experimental soundscapes, building a catalogue that treats electronic music as a field of exploration.

One of its most recent —and most anticipated— releases comes from the ship’s commander himself. PETRU KSS is a techno artist, live performer, DJ, producer, researcher and founder of KSS, based in London. His work operates at the intersection of hardware-centered live performances, real-time improvisation and deep hypnotic techno. Within this space, physical interaction with machines, creative risk and human decision-making become defining elements of his artistic language.

Kolibri Live LP marks the debut album of PETRU KSS, and also the most complete expression of his vision of live-created techno: dark, atmospheric and shaped in real time through intuition, interaction and human presence. Recorded in the natural landscapes of Corsica, the project was conceived as an ascent from the organic toward a deep and expansive space. The music unfolds through hypnotic patterns, luminous motifs and a gradual movement that blends the energy of techno with a cinematic sensibility.
Across eleven interconnected tracks, the album functions both as a physical experience for the dancefloor and as a narrative journey that slowly unfolds. Featuring contributions from artists such as Dubfire and .VRIL, mixed by Hannes Bieger and mastered at Calyx, the record captures the tension, risk and singular energy that emerge from human creation in real time. The result stands as PETRU KSS’s most focused statement to date—an invitation to carry the soul beyond gravity.
The journey begins with Genesis. The title points directly to origins, the moment when something begins to take shape. From its opening bars, the track builds anticipation through dark, restrained rhythms that feel almost taciturn. It operates not only as a conceptual opening but also as a sonic gesture that reveals a carefully crafted artistic vision. Among interstellar rhythms and drifting spacecrafts, the astronaut begins the journey.
The rework of Ketarion enters with intensity from the first seconds. Its rhythmic escalation rises quickly yet remains controlled. Just as rapidly as tension builds, it retracts, guiding the listener into a suspended state between sonic immersion and introspection. As the track progresses, this rhythmic pendulum continues oscillating between expansion and restraint on increasingly larger scales before dissolving into a precise and elegant sound design.
Tuplet Puppet and Trieuoppa act as an atmospheric bridge between the album’s opening and its more expansive middle section. The former unfolds across quiet sonic valleys, moments of stillness that invite introspective listening without disrupting the album’s narrative thread. The latter moves further into a delicate emotional register, evoking distant memories as if passing through temporal tunnels stretching ad infinitum.
Liminal Orbit embodies the idea of the threshold suggested by its title. The track oscillates between both sides of that sonic border, gradually assembling its layered architecture. As the texture develops, liminal orbits emerge and intertwine into an iterative structure that eventually crystallizes into clearly defined sonic forms, moving simultaneously toward dawn and dusk.
In Trappist, acid seems to spill inside the spacecraft, fracturing its structure and shaking perception once again. The sound of PETRU KSS continues transporting us through multiple realities, flying above satellites and galactic orbits in search of new sonic configurations. The extended duration of the track allows its sonic architecture to fully unfold.
Capsule functions as a moment of condensation. The track manages to encapsulate a subtle, fresh and slightly nostalgic version of the sonic language developed throughout the album. Having crossed the core of the work, the music opens space for a brief sonic retrospection—a pause before the journey continues.
Kasioppea and Ordelion represent the navigation between the interstices opened by the album itself. It is an ethereal passage toward a kind of sonic absolute: the first functioning as entry, the second as exit from this interstellar corridor.
The winged horse Pegasus signals the final elevation—not only of the spacecraft but also of our psyche within the sonic universe of Kolibri Live LP. Here the end of the journey begins to emerge. A synthesis of multiple determinations and the coupling of previously uncoupled structures ultimately lead to Landing, a nearly mathematical closing. Ambient flashes emerge through subtle electro pulses, surrounded by lunar atmospheres that seem to say farewell to other times.
Ultimately, Kolibri Live LP is not merely an album of live techno, but an exploration of what happens when machines and human intuition meet in real time. In that point of friction—between control and risk, structure and improvisation—PETRU KSS constructs a journey that moves beyond the logic of the dancefloor into something almost cosmic. Rather than a final destination, the record feels like an open orbit, a space where the sound continues expanding long after the spacecraft has touched down.
