We return with pleasure to one of the Mexican labels that has given us the most to talk about in recent months. Pure Nrgy is more than just a record label —it’s a complete ecosystem: promoter, podcast series, and community, founded in Querétaro, México, by Liarsenic, a name that already says a great deal about the project’s aesthetic direction. Active since 2022, Pure Nrgy began as a series of events in the center of Querétaro, where it built a solid and genuine local community before the rest of the techno world began to take notice. That sequence —community first, recognition second— isn’t accidental: it’s the foundation on which everything that followed is built, including the international recognition the project now holds within the techno scene.
The sound that defines Pure Nrgy in its events dimension is what today goes by the names «Sci-Fi», «Dark», or «Raw» —a techno that asks no one’s permission and carries the unmistakable imprint of the DJs who have passed through its booth. But in its dimension as a label and podcast, the project remains open and porous to other worlds: Industrial, Hypnotic, Trance, and anything else that shares its underlying intensity. That breadth isn’t contradiction —it’s curatorial intelligence.
For its most recent release within the Black Label series, Pure Nrgy presents Alejandro Ruiz, better known as Alexein Aner. This DJ from the eastern region of Antioquia, Colombia, has been building his trajectory since 2018, almost entirely in silence: an incognito artist who has moved through underground and private parties, defined by energetic and experimental rhythms through hard techno. He’s not the kind of artist who seeks visibility —he’s the kind who lets the music speak, and who arrives at a label like Pure Nrgy carrying the full weight of years of quiet, deliberate work.
Tuareg is his offering for this tenth edition of the Black Label: a four-track original EP, with Liarsenic handling the remixes. What makes this release special is its character: influences from dub techno, soft atmospheres, small details that reveal themselves only to the attentive listener. It’s dark techno without heavy machinery —which, paradoxically, makes it denser in another sense entirely. When the weight comes not from volume but from texture and atmosphere, the result is something felt deeper inside, closer to the bone. A collection that rewards patience and attention.
«Anaba» opens the collection and establishes the rules of the game from the very first second. It’s a track defined by wide, clean structures, within which the sonic layers have all the space in the world to unfold without rush or pressure. In those conditions, the sound moves placidly —but placidly doesn’t mean simply. Because within that same serene rhythm, latent sonic layers coexist, loaded with mystery, with ancient times and uncertain futures, appearing and disappearing like memories that never quite take shape. It’s a track about stability and instability inhabiting the same space —about how something can sound calm and unsettling at the same time. An opening that perfectly anticipates the journey ahead.
