From its earliest releases, the Russian imprint has developed an exceptionally sharp curatorial vision centered on dense sound design, structural sophistication, and atmospheric depth.
Beyond functioning as a label, the project reveals the broader creative momentum currently moving through the Russian electronic scene: vibrant, technically refined, and increasingly distinct within the international techno landscape. A particular tension runs throughout these releases — a fusion of industrial rawness and hypnotic refinement that gradually becomes part of the label’s sonic signature.
This time, the spotlight falls on A L V S M, the alias of Saint Petersburg producer Igor Belokopytov, who presents ‘Volna’, a four-track collection built around intensity and meticulous control of sonic detail. The EP unfolds through a sustained pressure that never loses direction, even at its most forceful moments.
Compact percussion, metallic layering, and progressive modulation create a flow where movement seems to rise from beneath the surface itself, like tectonic force accumulating underneath rigid structures. Rhythm, space, and texture remain permanently suspended in tension.
Opening track “Volna 1” arrives with immediate density and overwhelming propulsion.
