Within an electronic landscape where intensity is often mistaken for saturation, Mycelio has built an identity rooted elsewhere: sustained groove, atmospheric depth, and an almost organic relationship with movement. From Mumbai, producer and DJ Harshit Desai develops a language where rhythm, texture, and spatiality intertwine to generate deeply immersive experiences. His sound moves patiently yet never loses tension; every layer seems to attach itself to the next as part of an organism in constant expansion.
The project unfolds through persistent percussion, deep pulsations, and a sensibility focused on the physical detail of contemporary techno. There is a tactile quality running through the sound design: frequencies dragging themselves like wet matter across overheated concrete, cavernous reverbs opening hidden spaces inside the mix, and organic elements continuously reshaping spatial perception. The dancefloor no longer feels linear and instead begins to behave like a living ecosystem, where each sound alters the behavior of the next.
Throughout his trajectory, Harshit has shared stages with artists such as Richie Hawtin, Dax J, Lindsey Herbert, Lewis Fautzi, and Answer Code Request, while also playing an important curatorial role within India’s electronic circuit. That dimension is essential to understanding his approach: music operates not only as individual production, but as circulation, collective energy, and the construction of shared atmospheres.
The name Mycelio itself functions as a conceptual statement. Inspired by underground mycelial networks connecting entire ecosystems beneath the surface, the project translates that same logic into sound: interdependent structures, tensions spreading slowly, and energetic flows moving simultaneously through body and perception. There is no immediate explosion here; there is silent propagation, continuous expansion, and pressure rising from underneath.
Our mix series, Cintas Furiosas — Furious Tapes, emerges from precisely that idea of permanent movement and sustained tension. Inspired both by the Baseball Furies from The Warriors and Imperator Furiosa from the Mad Max universe, the series operates as a space where invited artists project their own interpretation of a “furious sound”: intensity, displacement, trance, and the physical transformation of space itself. Each edition reshapes the concept without abandoning it, pushing it toward new textures, speeds, and forms of immersion.
Mycelio’s contribution to the series fully embraces that logic. From the opening moments, the mix unfolds through hypnotic, subtly piercing rhythms that instantly alter perception. Vocals appear like distant signals inside the sonic fog, guiding the journey while tension rises gradually without ever losing elegance or control. There is something ancestral in the way the set handles repetition: loops emerging from forgotten spaces, pulsations reorganizing the body, and dark atmospheres that never fully reveal themselves.
The transitions operate on two levels simultaneously. They function as bridges between different states while also reigniting the internal momentum of the mix. Every shift transforms the emotional density of the journey without breaking coherence, allowing the set to mutate constantly while preserving its hypnotic unity. Between evolving textures, deep grooves, and metallic resonances suspended in darkness, Mycelio transforms the mix into a living organism that breathes, folds into itself, and expands once again across the dancefloor.
