CF Signals: Oydet – Circle [Black Shapes]

Black Shapes, the new digital sublabel from Dustywork, emerges as a platform fully dedicated to dark, hypnotic techno shaped by experimental impulses. More than a simple extension of the main catalog, the project operates as a specific zone of exploration where rhythm stops functioning merely as a structural tool and begins behaving like a force capable of reorganizing space, distorting perception, and stretching time from within. The label’s curatorial direction embraces slow immersion and precision, focusing on deep textures, progressive development, and an atmospheric reading of contemporary techno.

Following the strong reception of its first releases, ‘ZEROTHREE’ pushes that vision further through a compilation centered on introspective and structural territories. The release unfolds through monochromatic landscapes, eroded surfaces, and sonic layers expanding in slow motion inside industrial cavities. Tension here does not emerge through immediate impact or overload; it grows from microscopic detail, from subtle shifts gradually altering the behavior of the atmosphere itself. Each track feels like an autonomous system of pressure and suspension, maintaining a constant sensation of perceptual drift.

The compilation brings together contributions from Oydet, KCLAB Sephas, Mogul, and Dustywork, all connected through a shared logic of immersion and displacement. Dustywork opens the journey with a progressive techno piece driven by restrained and highly precise broken beats, designed for attentive listening and dancefloors responsive to cumulative tension rather than direct impact. Later, KCLAB Sephas introduces a friction point between Techno and IDM, unfolding a fragmented, deeply introspective, and detail-oriented construction. Mogul closes the release by pushing the atmosphere into more abstract and disorienting territory, where techno seems to lose gravity and drift inside a low-lit cosmic void.

Within that trajectory, Oydet delivers one of the EP’s most absorbing moments. His interstellar imaginary expands through sandy dub textures, suspended frequencies, and reverberations seemingly detached from linear time. The sound unfolds slowly across empty spaces, as though every layer were moving frictionlessly through an infinite and silent architecture. There is an unsettling sense of stillness here, a total suspension where emptiness itself begins acquiring physical weight.

The track soon introduces an abrupt interruption, a partial fracture in the flow that transforms the listening experience into an involuntary space of reflection. From there, dense thoughts, unstable mental landscapes, and a persistent sensation of uncertainty begin to emerge, as though the sonic environment were crossed by distant signals impossible to fully decode. Yet Oydet never pushes chaos toward collapse. His approach to Deep and Dub Techno remains remarkably precise: delicate pulsations, immersive depth, and a rare ability to transform anxiety and emptiness into a form of hypnotic and expansive calm.
