Behind the Noise built «Frecuencias Líquidas» around a simple premise and let ten artists prove how far it stretches. Water changes shape without losing what it is, and the label uses that idea as the compilation’s spine. Ten women move through ten different corners of electronic music here, and the through-line isn’t a shared sound. It’s a shared refusal to sit still. Deep, enveloping atmospheres sit next to tracks built purely for the floor, and the whole collection reads less like a tracklist and more like a current that keeps finding new channels to run through.
Behind the Noise frames this as a statement about female and emerging talent, a platform built without labels or creative borders, and the music backs that framing up on its own terms. Nothing here chases a trend. Ten visions coexist under one philosophy: creative freedom, artistic identity, and a real passion for sound.
Liza Lee earned her place in the international scene fast, and a distinctive style built on real narrative sense explains why. Her first release on Didschn, helmed by Super Flu, hit the Beatport Top 100 and picked up support from Burning Man and Fusion Festival. «Naughty Pills,» released on EXE AUDIO, kept that momentum going and landed on global charts alongside the productions that followed, cementing her as a genuine rising force. Her sound runs on hypnotic rhythm, atmospheric texture, and a dancefloor dynamic that hits hard without losing precision, all guided by instinct and emotional response rather than formula.
«Resonate» opens the compilation on continuous, sustained intensity, holding that tension inside taut, latent sonic coordinates that keep the listener alert from start to finish. The track glows with its own light somewhere between darkness and neon, surrounded by threats and enigmas that never fully reveal themselves.
Devany Fabela, known as giggydevy, is a 27-year-old DJ from Monterrey, Nuevo León. She’s played French Club and Same Club at home, festivals like Techno Christmas and Bilbao’s Festival Dunas, and rooms across Madrid including Terraza Athens, Office 42, and Music Mezcalería Alambique.
«Up All Night» electrifies the floor and the dancer’s bloodstream the moment it drops. Thick grooves carry a delicate, almost tender undertow at the same time, and that duality is the track’s real hook. The vocals work like springs, launching the energy deeper into the night and carrying it straight through to sunrise.
VEROLILA is a Colombian DJ and producer who moves fluidly between melodic techno, progressive house, and indie dance, building hypnotic, emotional sets designed for the floor. She’s released on Jeahmon!, Eleven Records, ILUNA, Freegrant Music, and others, and she’s played Tulum, Mexico City, and Monterrey alongside stages across Colombia, sharing bills and handling warm-up sets for internationally recognized names.
«Check Your Ego» holds the same energy and environment as the tracks before it, but the electricity here runs finer, sitting above the whole mix like lightning striking upward instead of down. That inverted charge is the track’s greatest strength, a brutal energy that feels like it’s competing with nature itself.
KRLY keeps the sonic atmosphere consistent with what comes before, and that consistency does real work for the compilation’s overall curation and unity. A sensuality runs through the vocals here and cuts across the entire track, setting it apart while still locking into the collection’s larger current. «Noches del Ayer» moves through a valley of calm, letting the intensity settle before it takes its final flight, one that stretches the night out toward something close to permanent.
DIVA [AR] is an Argentine DJ and producer based in Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires, with indie rock running in her blood since childhood, from underground national scenes to British punk. Her sets fuse that indie rock aesthetic with danceable rhythm, and her productions lean on powerful basslines, enveloping synths, dark vocals, and emotional lyrics. Classical dance training gave her an early foundation in timing before the dancefloor became her true calling, and she now runs her own label, Black Roulette Records, which has already found its way onto Beatport’s charts.
«Inner Void» pushes the BPM up along with the rhythm and the intensity, trading in a darkness that runs sober and deep. The pace turns agile and aggressive, but the sound design keeps a firm hand on the modulation, never letting things spiral into absurd or delirious frenzy.
Melina Genchi is an Argentine DJ and producer from Necochea who turns darkness into movement. Her sound fuses deep melody, dense atmosphere, and the vibrant energy of indie dance, melodic techno, and peak-time techno, built around robotic vocals and a magnetic groove that pulls the floor into a near-trance. She’s released on labels across Italy, Romania, and Brazil, and shared stages with Timir, Rodri Vhans, Matt32, and Feddox.
«Extortion» reads like the absolute distillation of everything the compilation has poured out so far, or its ethereal conversion, lifting the sound into something close to religious. A spectacular velvet texture carries the whole track, handled with real precision.
RENASSENSE is a San Francisco-based artist and DJ who turns life experience directly into sound, building a project on connection and authenticity. The music opens up as an invitation into introspection and honesty, melody by melody.
«Viktor Frankl» plays two roles at once. Its darkness and mystery pull the listener into medieval, Dracula-tinged territory, while the sound design itself stays thoroughly modern, dropping straight into the middle of sleepless night cities. From there the track picks up speed, pairing striking vocal fragments with cinematic atmosphere, and it lands as one of the strongest cuts on the entire compilation.
DANGR is a Mexican DJ and producer with a sound built across minimal, deep, and tech house, and she’s carried it through some of Mexico’s most important clubs as well as stages around the world, including major festivals and events.
«The Phone Call» pushes the compilation’s sound and energy toward something close to eternal, landing among the collection’s most brutal rhythms. A purple velvet texture runs through the track and develops with real control, playing with the listener’s mind and pulling it fully under its influence.
Cecilia Alaniz, who performs as FUOCCO, holds a degree in Electroacoustic Composition from Universidad Nacional de Quilmes and has worked as a DJ, educator, and producer out of Buenos Aires since 2013, building a personal brand around Indie Dance and Dark Disco. She’s played bars, parties, and clubs across Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, and Peru, held a residency at the legendary bar Levitar in 2015, and joined Submerged Buenos Aires in 2016 alongside pioneering local DJ Diego Cid. She launched her own series, FLÜGE, with Dan Chelger in 2017, founded FuoccoFest in 2018 as a genre-agnostic meeting point for audiences, and played Buenos Aires’ LGBTIQ+ Pride March in 2019 for a crowd of more than 500,000. In 2023 she and Carla Crespo launched TECHNO BEBAS, an indie dance and techno-focused project with a residency at Esunputiclu.
«Pasion» plays with endings the way someone plays with something that refuses to arrive, precise and perfectly modeled sound shaping an environment where the ending stays imminent without ever quite landing.
THE WITCH EM is Marilyn Larein, a proud Jarocha working as a healer through tarot and touch, and an artist across photography, painting, and tattoo work who treats freedom as the throughline of everything she makes.
«Medianoche» acts as the compilation’s pivot point, the track that could just as easily open the night as close it, playing on the same question the title raises: does the night begin at midnight, or end there? The sound itself settles the debate on its own terms. It’s spectacular, fresh, electric, groove-driven, sensual, mysterious, and precise, all at once.
Ten artists, ten countries of origin between them, and one current running underneath all of it. «Frecuencias Líquidas» never asks its contributors to sound alike, and that’s exactly the point. Water takes the shape of whatever holds it, and Behind the Noise built a compilation that trusts ten very different artists to do the same without losing a single drop of what makes each of them distinct.
