Club Furies

Here comes the next of those dark gems that characterize Subsist Records so much. In principle, because it is a collection of twenty tracks with a each track duration averages between 8 minutes. This means that it is far from the current standards on how to publish electronic music. On this occasion, the Spanish platform presents the polka producer Mateusz Grzybowski, whose album represents the closing of an important chapter of his life in which he was searching for his sound and deepening sound synthesis. The 20 tracks were made over the last 2 years. In this collection, you can find mainly 4/4 techno fused with otherworldly atmospheres, and dark synths with touches of acid and noise.

Mateusz Grzybowski is a sound explorer, producer, live performer, and DJ originally from the area of Bialystok, Poland. His sets and tracks are usually based on hypnotic and deep techno. He moves between cosmic atmospheres and heavier, experimental sounds. In the creative process, he uses hardware synthesizers with modular touch, field recordings, and software. He is closely connected with the Bialystok music scene, especially with the iconic club FOMO. He has not only performed at various techno parties but also at events focused on ambient and experimental music with exhibitions. Mateusz also has a deep devotion to nature, forest events, and festivals, where he started to develop his interest in electronic music.

One of the first tracks of this work is called 4Nebu. In our world, but in post-apocalyptic times, or in other worlds, silence is echoed in sound and the semantics of what has come to the forefront. Progressively sound gives way to sound, amid abandoned valleys and disused machines. It is Mateusz‘s task to reactivate them. Amid the tinkling bells that were once the heart of the churches of humanity now announce futuristic bulbs and flashes that take us to the other world.

What follows is brutally beautiful, delicious, exhilarating, and throbbing. The heart races, while the blood rapidly rushes through our veins. Our mind races; our body perches on the cliff of adrenaline. The sand passes around us, whispering sonorous magic and spells that enchant our ears. It is time to pass the veil that takes us to the other side. The other side will be defined by each one of us – remember that art works with the forms of the artist, but is completed with the alter’s interpretation.

With such an extensive album, which is also full of atmospheres, rhythms, and variations, a synthesis in a few words is impossible, besides it would not cover such complexity. What it does is that it gives an account of this important closure in the artist’s life, and of the artistic creativity in the handling of the machines of electronics. Enter literally into Charbon‘s world, one that will surprise you.
