Club Furies

EXP Records is a collective record label whose aim is to offer underground techno and electronic vibes from various artists. Based in Spain, it presents its next release, the twenty-eighth on the platter. It is presented by Zigler, also known as Piero Gigante, a techno producer based in Brussels, Belgium. Zigler‘s works explore repetitive and dynamic movements characterized by intense cadences and analog modulations. While incorporating experimental influences, his pieces evoke a formless, murky, and hypnotic state.

Orbital Annihilation is the title of the work of the Belgian-based producer, the cradle of techno at its young and mature stage when he moved from Detroit to Europe. The Italian producer is back on the label once again. This time there are five tracks of powerful techno groove full of spacey and hypnotic atmosphere, work that we can title Orbital Destruction in techno form.

Accompanied by two remixes for Trespass Exceeded by Shintarø Kanie and R/D/V, who bring their visions to the track completing the EP of the Italian, who has also published on labels like Hardtools records, Selected records or Signal rec among others. A new trip in the orbit of the most spacey techno with hypnotic sequences that are destroying in a powerful rhythm and accelerated groove, full of texture and roughness, high quality as Zigler has been creating in all his works.

The orbit is the curved trajectory described by a body in its motion around a center. If we imagine the destruction of this orbit we arrive first at the title of this work. But as Jack would say, let’s go by parts. Internal Devastation is the track that opens this work. The title refers to one of the causes of that destruction, which would be internal devastation. In the end, techno as an artistic expression of sound wants to show how reality can be fictionalized with what produces a reality of its own.

The sound is intense, but mediated by threads of sound design that keep it latent. However, those same threads are torn by hilarious sound layers full of electricity and energetic power. Steady, persistent, and with precise patience, the sound structure comes across as clean, bright, at times metallic-liquid and revitalizing. We can see that the sound reflects in a sophisticated way that ruptures that will lead to annihilation. It is time to go beyond the internal limits, to reach the external ones.
