Club Furies

The Uncod3d subsidiary of Dutch label [R]3volution, led by Michele Mausi, presents its new release. It is about a Portuguese producer currently living in Amsterdam, PHYC. Influenced by the underground atmosphere of Amsterdam, the unpredictable techno for the mind and body, he now presents an extended play called Technical Limitations.

Composed of four original tracks―Very Much So in collaboration with Staktic, Struzzo, Catacombs Of Paris, and Jav Ar Dair,―the third of them is the one that excites us the most, both for its title and its sound. The Catacombs of Paris is one of the most famous cemeteries in Paris, the capital of France. They constitute a network of tunnels and subway rooms located in what, during Roman times, were limestone mines. The mines became a common cemetery at the end of the 18th century, due to the serious health problems caused by the cemeteries of the city. For this reason, it was decided to move its contents to a subway location.

Palpitating at the beginning, with strong rhythms and clean but powerful atmospheres. Connected these sounds with the semantics to which the title evokes. We are in front of a shocking combination. Death, cemeteries, skulls; rawness, hypnotism, mystery and brightness. Exciting sound that keeps us expectant, that reaches delirium in the silence. But only for a few seconds. After that, the rhythm grows.

This elevation of the rhythm however occurs in such a delicate and subtle way that it is almost imperceptible. Perhaps only our deepest levels of perception perceive it; and perhaps our unconscious notices the change and reverberates it to our body, which begins to accelerate the dance. Hypnosis arrives; death approaches; and so does the depths of the night and the dance. All this is assured by the sound of PHYC, who little by little is approaching one of our favorite producers of the moment.
