Club Furies

Imanol is in search of groove since always, he is a «digger» and loves to find lost songs. In 2018 he set up his own label U’re Guay Records, where he releases dozens of emerging artists from all over the world. This opens doors to keep constantly releasing his music for various labels such as Golden Soul Records (GER), Electric Music Foundation (USA), About Disco (BR), Muzic X Press (UY), This is not (IT), Dark Mirror (UK), LW Recordings (UK), Jade (FR), Kyma Komplex (MX), among others. He has been featured in selections of DJs such as Folamour, Jacques Renault, Freddy Fresh, MCDE, Rahaan, Javi Frias, and James Rod, among others. After a decade of musicalizing Encuentros, the rhythm of the presentations became constant in clubs and parties in Uruguay, giving rise to new opportunities to play outside the country.

Now, it’s your turn in our mix series. Our mix series is called Cintas Furiosas – Furious Tapes, in English. They are inspired by the band from the cult film The Warriors (1979) called Baseball Furies, and the scintillating Imperator Furiosa, the iconic character from the fourth installment of the Mad Max saga, Fury Road (2015), and now too from the Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024). Conceived as tapes that express a “furious sound”, both as a metaphor and as a sonic process, they acquire a special and unique fury with each artist they feature. Imanol offers endless freshness, latent rhythms, exciting and very summery.

Electrifying at the beginning, and yet with parallel halos of idyll, nostalgia, and excitement that are symptoms of what is to come, but also of what already is. Transitional freshness that lifts us to the clouds, amidst fresh green meadows and near dreams. While the body already feels the dancing strands of sound. The acid drops together with a growing rhythmic energy lift the mood and the emotion.

And so progressively the immersion in the sound is assured, whether we listen to it on the headphones, or on the speaker. It is time for dreams to dance to the rhythm of Imanol’s sound. And so suddenly the transition takes us elsewhere: to city sidewalks, in the midst of cool summers, and dreamy sounds. And from there back to the freneticism of the dancefloor, and to the sweat of the body.

Once again, an enviable Cinta Furiosa, which shows the repertoire of the Uruguayan artist, as well as an impressive handling in the transitions and in the measurement and sensitivity of the listener’s mood, as well as the clubber’s. Imanol, thank you!
