Focused on dancefloor oriented electro, sprinkled with elements of Detroit techno, cat can do aims to show us what a cat can do. Born in Canada and based in Alicante, Spain, cat can do is the alias of Sean Parker. With four releases on the prolific Spanish platform Diffuse Reality Records, two of them in vinyl format, his so-called two-volume M SERIES, he now returns to present his fifth work.

It is an album of five original tracks called Nuages là-bas. Produced live, with the use of samples from old family videos with his AKAI S612. It is part of a series the artist has been working on since the passing of his parents. On the track Sun is in her face, his mother’s voice is heard telling his father that his little sister has the sun on her face, as she looks at the camera from her sunlit stroller.

Loaded with electrifying nostalgia, it is an ode to the departed from the joy of life and the instruments and improvisation of live recordings. With verve and character in the handling of instruments, as well as condensation of sound layers, the sonic structure is capable of handling sad pasts in the midst of joyful presents, which nevertheless bring them with them.

It is a sophisticated composition, like cat can do‘s previous works, but it is also fun, a character made possible by the live recording. This also allows the energy with which the artist feels connected to his instruments, in which he recodes his feelings and sensations into sounds. This cat can really make sound art.
