One of the most striking record labels in Buenos Aires, Argentina, is Detroit Classic Gallery. Owned by E110101, their sound is powered by the roots of Techno and House music. For his most recent release, they present the extended play of two Argentinean girls, both from Córdoba: Pampa and Victoria Whynot.
Affair is called the release, and is a collection of four original tracks – the eponymous, Blown, Emotional Regulation, and Interior Harmony. A very striking mix of techno ferocity with velvety notes that imbue it with a spectacular hypnotism. The word affair has many synonyms: romance, flirtation, courtship, dalliance, entanglement.
The sound of the homonymous track could well be the environment in which this human reaction happens, as it has it all: subtlety, mystery, sensuality, darkness, strength, and a lot of attitude. Cadenced, rhythmic, and delicate beginnings progressively lead us to an incandescent, yet ethereal rhythmic upswing. Emerging from invisible places, but which are felt, the sound takes us to the nostalgia of what was and what will be, inserted in two uncoupled beats that totally ignites it.
The perception is now all of the sound, of its expansive waves, and of its rhythms that, in their multiple layers, take over the whole atmosphere and ambience. This Affair has become a spectacular artistic manifestation. It’s time to blow it with the next track…
