Born in Ronda (Málaga, Spain), Abel Aguilera grew up surrounded by music, deeply influenced by his father, an active DJ during the vibrant 1970s and 1980s. This early exposure ignited a lifelong passion that continues to shape his sound today. Over the years, Abel has refined his musical identity, moving from the classics of his youth toward the dynamic and contemporary world of electronic music.

For one of his most recent releases, A.B.E.L. joins the family of Illegal Alien Records. Based in Málaga, the artist makes a strong and impactful debut on the label, marking another key milestone in his rapidly evolving career. Over the past year, A.B.E.L. has built a solid and distinctive presence within the Spanish techno scene, earning recognition for his focused sound and dancefloor-driven approach.

“Parasomnias” is the title of this powerful five-track EP, delivering intense, deep, and groove-laden techno. The release is driven by raw and dense grooves, high-energy rhythms, and a carefully refined underground aesthetic. Well-placed and emotive vocal samples enhance its hypnotic character. Parasomnias are abnormal behaviors or experiences that occur during sleep, the transition into sleep, or upon waking—such as sleepwalking, teeth grinding, night terrors, or sleep paralysis. While they can affect the quality of rest, they are not always dangerous, but they do involve altered states of consciousness.

“Out of Body” can be understood as one of these parasomnias, both in name and in effect. Heavy and intense, yet agile and highly danceable, the track operates within hypnotic coordinates, making it ideal for inducing trance-like states on the dancefloor. A sonic immersion that seems to pull the soul out of the body—or lull the body to sleep—allowing the mind to fully merge with the sound.
