Toolboxxx is a community of DJs and producers rooted in North Rhine-Westphalia with an international outlook. The platform returns with TBX013, a multi-artist compilation bringing together the work of H4, Jiho, Nilya, and Noëtik. The release offers four distinct perspectives on contemporary techno, fusing deep grooves, polished textures, and direct dancefloor functionality to solidify the label’s deep, raw, and timeless sonic identity.

Every track stands out, and the release as a whole has thoroughly captivated us. We want to give special mention to the contribution by Jiho, a Korean artist based in Tokyo with a solid background in the underground scene. Driven by the pursuit of enduring sound and dynamic textures, he founded Subhills in 2018, an imprint focused on exploring the outer limits of groove and rhythm.

His studio work steers away from abstraction, favoring practicality, restraint, and technical precision. Combining analog synths and digital tools, he constructs tracks defined by high sonic resolution, rhythmic clarity, and a minimalist aesthetic engineered for floor dynamism.

The sound of «In Case Of Memory» is clean, steady, pulsing, vibrant, autopoietic, and electric, mediated by metallic textures. Delicate, refined pulses and electronic bulbs shape a framework through which contingency unfolds with agility and versatility, drifting smoothly across rhythm and sound. It is a contained energy seeking subtle outlets, gently hammering the mind and the dancefloor with a velvety touch.
