Sender Berlin is back. Following a 14-year hiatus, the legendary Berlin project returns with MazanA, a four-track EP produced in collaboration with _studio416, released via Snork Enterprises—the same imprint behind their 2012 vinyl release.

Founded in 1999 by Hendrik Vaak, Torsten Litschko, and Alexander Lukat—who were joined by Sven Elmlund in 2024—Sender Berlin built its legacy with two cult LPs on Tresor Records (Spektrum Weltweit and Gestern Heute Morgen). This new chapter took shape in the _studio416 facility, set amidst the concrete environment and late-night calm of Berlin’s Marzahn district—an industrial backdrop that directly informs the record’s sound design.

Anchored by Berlin techno—rhythmic, functional, and unhurried—MazanA weaves Detroit and dub techno influences into cuts like «MazanA» and «Concrete Rush», spherical repetition on «Noiser», and the vocal presence of Maria Pietranera on «The Morning». It serves as a clear statement defining Sender Berlin’s sound today.

«Noiser» hits crisp from the start, bringing to mind the warmth of damp timber spaces making their claim on the acoustic space. With refined subtlety, its texture builds through acoustic decouplings whose synthesis weaves a complex, fresh, and delicately electric landscape.
