Our beloved imprint Subsist Records presents Inconformista, the debut album by Not Charlie and the sonic synthesis of more than two years of personal experiences, life decisions, and internal growth. The project traces a narrative arc conceived prior to major life transitions and brought to fruition during his recent period in Germany. The title reflects the artist’s chosen stance toward life: a mindset of continuous searching that rejects complacency to venture down uncharted paths, translated here into twelve compositions balancing floor dynamics with sonic experimentation.
Not Charlie took his first steps in the electronic scene in 2015, embarking on an exploratory phase across various subgenres that led to his definitive professionalization behind the decks and in the studio by 2022. Since then, the DJ and producer has built a signature focused on the darker, more cerebral, and driving spectrums of techno. For Not Charlie, sound design acts as an outlet for release and personal expression; his philosophy bypasses predefined formulas to incorporate fresh techniques and textures that constantly stretch his musical boundaries.
Across the LP, the sound feeds on sci-fi textures that evoke an ongoing quest for introspective answers, slow-burning yet tension-filled rhythms proving there is no rush to find resolutions, and deep atmospheres where the individual behind the producer reveals himself transparently.
«Causalidad» stands as the manifestation that every action triggers an effect. The track’s sound palette is deep and hypnotic, placing a clear emphasis on immersive, enveloping qualities that shape and modulate visual labyrinths as a sine qua non extension of the music itself. Here, becoming finds its deltas in distant galaxies glimpsed by the artist-astronaut navigating his vessel through the sonic cosmos.
