TC Records returns with ASCO, the latest release from Costa Rican producer and DJ Byron Alvarado. The label has developed a clear affinity for hypnotic, groove-driven techno, building a catalogue around productions where rhythm, repetition and subtle changes in texture become central elements. With ASCO, that aesthetic continues through five tracks that move between deep rhythmic structures, more forceful club dynamics and two reworks that expand the release in different directions.
Byron Alvarado has steadily established his presence within the Costa Rican techno scene, developing a sound centered on hypnotic grooves and physical rhythmic structures. His previous appearance on TC Records came through “Tripas,” included on Escape Route Vol. 2, where his approach to persistent rhythm and gradual tension was already clearly defined. On ASCO, that language returns with a broader range of textures, bringing together the original tracks “ASCO,” “Logorhythms” and “Tea With Aliens” alongside remixes by Fiedel and Pooja B.
At the center of this release is “Logorhythms,” a track built around rhythmic repetition, controlled movement and hypnotic tension. Its structure develops through a persistent groove in which the individual elements seem to lock into place progressively, creating a sense of forward motion without relying on excessive changes. There is something almost mechanical in the way the rhythm keeps circulating, while subtle shifts in texture give the track enough depth to remain in constant motion.
