Club Furies

The new French label based in Rennes, Ethos Records, is influenced by the Greek word ethos, which it means custom or character, which refers to the set of traits and modes of behavior that make up the character or identity of a person or a community. Ethos Records is a style appropriated by a speaker to capture the attention, gain the trust of the audience, and seduce them through passions.

For its first release, it presents the producer from Brest, France, Nocho, who is perched between clouds, melancholy and Ambient. Defined as follows: «today’s dreamers will be tomorrow’s saviors because Imagining and Thinking are two sides of the same coin. Every story, false or true, is a testimony and has something to learn about everything, even about the speaker».

Nocho‘s inspiration comes from the beauty of the things in life. The nostalgia, the travels, and sleepless nights become the raw material for a piece of intense and mysterious music. His long play Constellations, which he presents on Ethos Records, is imbued with deep emotions, through Ambient and broken rhythms in a mix as smooth as it is solar.

This spellbinding project consolidates Nocho‘s unique style, confirming his work as an artist, but also as a producer. Supported by Red Rec, Langoustine Records, DLZ Records, and Texture Recordings, now on Ethos Records, Constellations comes to life. Ethos, like Nocho‘s sounds, is an invitation to a sensory journey to the heart of what makes us human: emotion.

Club Furies presents the premiere of Arae. In Greek mythology, the Arae were female spirits of curses, in particular, curses imposed by the dead on those guilty of their death; they were associated with the underworld. It is the genitive form of Ara, the altar, a southern constellation located between Scorpius and Triangulum Australe.

From the forests of Brest and Rennes, in France, the sound of it rests on the horizon of its tallest trees, pointing to the constellation Ara, in search of those female spirits. The track is borne with fresh Electro and Breaks, and subtle celestial halos, laden with female voices, perhaps the Arae.

The subtlety and freshness of the sound are such that we have been absorbed by the Arae. We are heading for the sky and its stars, perhaps on our way to the underworld. However, the destination doesn’t matter much, for the journey feels special and unique. An extraordinary first release from Ethos Records, in the hands of Nocho.
