Club Furies Premiere: Antikue — Into Jomsom [Absent Music]

Antikue is the electronic music, IDM, and Leftfield project from London, England, born in 2003. Their latest work is a double tracker, consisting of Windhook and Into Jomsom, released on their own label, Absent Music.

Windhook is a virtual zephyr drifting out of the speakers. A song whose production finds a typically meditative form. Conjuring an otherworldly idiosyncrasy, Windhook’s undulating pads and incessant shakers lay the foundation for a gently ascending riff. That fact leads to a reverberating topography that feels both playful and reflective.

Into Jomsom, by contrast, envelops us in swirling bell, ghostly strings, and resonating bass. All of this happens before the chime brings the whole thing to a descending close. Stretching hypnagogic musings in distinctly personal ways, Antikue’s aural escapism continues apace.

Club Furies presents the premiere of Into Jomson, whose visual correlate embeds us in placid apocalyptic panoramas, as much as nostalgic oness. Amidst valleys of silence, the fine and subtle sound of Into Jomson is overflowing and ineffable.
