Anxiety (Col) is the project of Colombian artist and producer from Cartago, Valle del Cauca, now based in Madrid. His journey through rave culture has been shaped by a persistent search for impact, atmosphere, and dancefloor functionality. As both DJ and producer, he has developed a distinctive language where tension, movement, and spatial depth coexist within structures designed for immersion. In 2020, that vision expanded further with the creation of his collective and label Error In the System, a platform that continues to reflect his evolving artistic identity.
Over the years, Anxiety has brought his sound to labels such as Db2bRecording, Diffuse Reality, and Beluga Tracks, while steadily strengthening the profile of his own imprint. Now he arrives on Chilean label Arido Records with Belefonta, a release featuring three original tracks alongside remixes from Azogiar and Size. The EP further reinforces his interest in the territory where mental techno, conceptual narratives, and club-focused energy intersect.
The title track draws inspiration from Bellerophon, the legendary Greek hero renowned for taming Pegasus and defeating the Chimera. Yet the composition does not merely illustrate that mythology. Instead, it reinterprets it. From its opening moments, a cerebral and distinctly sci-fi strain of techno unfolds, positioning the listener between two simultaneous realities. One points toward the distant future and the vastness of outer space. The other reaches back toward ancient civilizations, forgotten myths, and buried memories. Both timelines gradually merge within the same sonic architecture.
The track develops through elongated structures that continuously expand and contract. Elements seem to oxygenate the space before thickening it again, generating a tension that remains unresolved. Suspended synths, metallic resonances, and persistent rhythms create the sensation of movement without a clearly defined destination. There is forward momentum, yet the coordinates remain unknown.
At a certain point, mythology gives way to pure experience. The mind releases its final points of reference and begins to drift through unfamiliar landscapes. Like a traveler lost between impossible constellations and the ruins of forgotten futures, the listener becomes suspended within a hypnotic state where time appears to stretch endlessly. Belefonta finds its greatest strength in that ambiguous territory where ancient legend and futuristic imagination ultimately speak the same language.
