Scordisci is a London-based record label and event platform that has built its identity around the intersection of techno, experimentation, and electroacoustic composition. Rather than embracing rigid genre boundaries, the label promotes a broader vision of electronic music where conceptual innovation and emotional honesty remain at the forefront. In only two years, the project has brought together a diverse community of artists connected by a shared creative curiosity and a desire to continuously explore new sonic possibilities.

That philosophy takes shape through 2 Years of Scordisci VA001, a compilation gathering twenty-three producers from across the contemporary techno spectrum. More than an anniversary release, the project functions as a collective portrait of the label and the artistic paths it has explored since its inception. Hypnotic rhythms, kinetic energy, atmospheric depth, and radically different approaches coexist within a body of work that finds its unity precisely through diversity.

Among the contributors is Secret Cinema, one of the defining figures of the Dutch electronic scene. Since the early 1990s, Jeroen Verheij has built a career that remains deeply embedded in the history of European techno, creating a catalogue as influential as it is extensive. His presence within this compilation adds a particular dimension to the project, establishing a bridge between generations while demonstrating that innovation can emerge just as naturally from decades of accumulated experience.

His contribution, Endlessness, embodies its title from the very first moments. The track unfolds across a smooth, velvety sonic canvas that seems to stretch beyond its own temporal boundaries. Everything moves through patient and continuous progression, allowing each layer to breathe and expand naturally. Only a handful of carefully placed pauses interrupt the flow, creating brief openings where both track and dancer can regain perspective before returning to the current. There is a fascinating relationship with time at work throughout the composition.

Certain melodic fragments feel as though they emerge from distant eras while others gesture toward futures not yet imagined, generating a sense of nostalgia suspended somewhere between memory and anticipation. By the time the piece reaches its climax, there is no true resolution. Endlessness simply continues to resonate beyond its formal duration, transforming the ending into another form of permanence and reaffirming Secret Cinema’s remarkable ability to construct sonic spaces where time itself appears to lose its usual limits.
