Jamie Bissmire is a longstanding figure in the UK techno scene, with a career closely connected to the development of the harder and more uncompromising sides of the genre. For Fundamental Elements, he joins forces with Diffuse Reality Records, a label whose catalogue has become a familiar home for experimental and underground techno. We have previously featured music from the label at Club Furies, and this new release gives us another chance to step into its particular universe.
Across five tracks — Prehistoric Polytope, Logarhythmic Roots, Asymmetric Intelligence Agency, Nodal Conditions, and There is only now — Bissmire builds a record whose titles already suggest an interest in mathematics, systems, intelligence, and time. There is a certain conceptual thread running through the release, but Fundamental Elements remains grounded in the physical language of techno, giving those ideas a place to unfold through rhythm and repetition.
Our premiere is Jamie Bissmire — Logarhythmic Roots, the second track on the EP. Its title hints at the strange territory Bissmire is exploring here, where organic associations and mathematical language meet. The track carries a sense of movement and tension that feels perfectly at home within the darker corners of the dancefloor, gradually drawing attention toward its rhythmic core.
With Fundamental Elements, Jamie Bissmire and Diffuse Reality Records come together around a release that feels cerebral without losing its connection to the body. Logarhythmic Roots gives us one entry point into that world: a piece where patterns, repetition, and physical energy become part of the same conversation.
