From Club Furies, we have recently begun our collaboration with the Maltese label Systolic, and in a very short time we have confirmed what was already apparent: their curatorial strength, the quality of their artists, and the coherence of their sonic architecture position them as a key platform within contemporary deep techno. Each release we have featured highlights a clear direction: depth, precision, and measured risk.
This time, the spotlight turns to Neural Scape, the project of Quentin Rodríguez, currently based in Toulouse, France, who lands on Systolic with a four-track EP titled Elemental. True to his identity, Neural Scape crafts a form of mathematical deep techno, where complex rhythms and evolving melodic structures create a constant sense of movement, transporting listeners into new mental and physical landscapes.
Elemental is a focused, powerful, and conceptually cohesive release that explores the relationship between raw natural forces and advanced electronic sound design. Rooted in deep, hypnotic patterns and driven by precise, evolving sequences, the EP delivers a carefully structured journey tailored for dark rooms and high-impact sound systems. Here, dancefloor functionality meets restrained atmospheric narrative.
Throughout the EP, Neural Scape blends organic textures with finely tuned industrial intensity. He shifts seamlessly between stable, enveloping low-end pressure and more volatile, high-energy moments. Subtle atmospheric layers and meticulously sculpted percussion give each track a tangible sense of physical motion, evoking elemental states such as earth, fire, and transformation—without relying on overt storytelling.
The closing track, Magma, encapsulates the EP’s thesis. Magma—the viscous molten material that solidifies upon cooling—becomes a sonic metaphor. Beginning intermittently, the track advances with weight and determination, unfolding with the dense strength of primordial matter. Its controlled heaviness and gradual tension build toward a climax that resonates not only through the sound system, but within the mind.
At its peak, ethereal notes emerge, creating a contrast between density and suspension. Sonic deltas evoke frozen lakes and underground caves evaporating in seconds, leaving behind a state of lucid shock. Magma stands as an impeccable, precise, and emotionally restrained composition.
With Elemental EP, Neural Scape reinforces a refined approach to contemporary techno: functional yet immersive, minimalist yet emotionally charged. Designed for discerning DJs and nocturnal dancefloors, the release strengthens both the artist’s identity and Systolic’s curatorial vision—a label that, even in this early stage of collaboration with us, clearly demonstrates a commitment to system-driven, forward-thinking techno with depth and character.
