Club Furies Premiere: [xxx] — Calomnier [VIVES]

“Vives” or “weavers” are a family of fish that bury themselves in the sand. They have poisonous spines that sting people who walk over them. Their stings often cause severe pain that spreads throughout the bones. That is the concept behind Weever’s label, VIVES, also resident in Organisme Texture.

VIVES is one of our favorite labels. With just four releases, one of them being a multi-artist compilation, and a unique aesthetic concept, Club Furies is immensely happy to present the new release from the label based in Rennes, France. We talk about [xxx], one of Weever’s projects. It features an extended play, entitled Scinder, consisting of four original tracks – Scinder, Empiéter, Calomnier, and Ternir – and two remixes to Calomnier by The Black Anther and Volsent.

Club Furies presents the premiere of Calomnier. Calomnier means “slander”, which refers to falsely and maliciously attributing dishonorable words, acts, or intentions to someone. The sound of our premiere is pure honesty. The whole essence of VIVES in one track, in a sound that is not simple and plain, but complex and fierce.

Between flashing electrified lightning bolts and thick blades unsheathed, the sound is a black candy of Techno, Industrial, and Experimental, the guiding matrices of the French label. In this new project, [xxx], the essence of one of our favorite labels continues to be reproduced.
