Carara has a sound defined by an attitude that reads as slightly arrogant but always firmly grounded in a versatile yet well-delimited sonic design. That combination is one of the qualities we appreciate most in his work, and it returns now on the mythical label Gynoid Audio, where he presents two volumes of PTN Select. For now, we present the first volume.
Gynoid Audio holds a particular place in the techno landscape — a label with enough history to be called mythical and enough consistency to remain a reliable home for the genre’s most assured forms.
PTN Select 001 consists of two original tracks, each a little over six minutes long, and it is constant and hammering from start to finish. The timbres of its sound remain sharp and bright throughout, as if the sound were diamond dust in full fusion, hardening the texture.
At the same time, the electricity and the interaction of the machines used by the Berlin translator are palpable in a transversal way across the whole sound. The effect is an immersion in eternity that extends through the entire track. Once again, Carara delivers confident and very well-executed techno, on one of the surest labels to do so.
Diamond dust as hardened texture is the concept that articulates the release: brightness that cuts, precision that holds. Within Club Furies’ interest in techno as a physical and mental language, PTN Select 001 stands as a compact, self-assured statement.
